Packers beat 49ers 30-28

SAN FRANCISCO, California (WMTV) - The Green Bay Packers defeated the San Francisco 49ers 30-28. The Packers offense got going early in the first quarter, scoring on their first drive of the game. Mason Crosby would kick a 54-yard field goal to put the Packers up in the first 3-0.

On Green Bay’s second drive they would efficiently move the ball down the field, with a seven-play scoring drive capped by a 1-yard Davante Adams touchdown to make it 10-0.

Right before the half at 2nd & goal Aaron Rodgers would hand it off to Aaron Jones who powers it in from three-yards out to make it 17-0 Packers. That was Jones’ fifth touchdown of the season, the running back with an impressive four touchdowns in Green Bay’s victory over Detroit last week.

With two seconds on the clock before the half, the 49ers bring in Trey Lance who powers the ball into the end zone from the 1-yard line to make it 17-7.

In their first drive of the second half, Jimmy Garoppolo would connect with Brandon Aiyuk for 8-yards and San Francisco would start to close in on Green Bay, trailing 17-14.

At the start of the fourth quarter on 3rd & 4, Rodgers with a short pass to Marquez Valdes-Scantling for 12 yards to extend Green Bay’s lead 24-14.

Packers would pay for a pass interference call on 3rd & 14 against Eric Stokes, Green Bay would challenge and the call would stand. That same drive the 49ers would score on 1st & goal, Trey Sermon would take it in from the 1-yard line to make it 24-21 Green Bay.

With 37 seconds left in the game, Garoppolo finds Kyle Juszcyk for 12-yards and San Francisco takes the one point lead 28-27.

Packers get in field goal range with three-seconds left on the clock, Mason Crosby’s 51-yard field goal attempt is good and the Packers win 30-28.

Rodgers finished 23/33 for 261 yards and two touchdowns, while Jimmy Garoppolo finished 25/40 for 257 yards and two touchdowns.

The Packers will return home and host the Pittsburgh Steelers on October 3rd at 3:25 p.m.
