Vehicle struck by gunfire near downtown Madison

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Madison Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred in downtown Madison Saturday night.

According to a news release from Madison PD, around 2:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to the 200 block of W. Gilman St. for reports or shots fired.

Upon arrival officers found a vehicle on Gilman St. that had been struck approximately 6 times with 8 shell casings found at the scene.

The owner of the struck vehicle, was had been standing near the vehicle when the incident had occurred, was not injured.

There is currently no information regarding the suspect of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
