Man arrested after shots fired downtown Madison

According to police, two businesses and an unoccupied car were struck by gunfire.

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Madison Police have arrested one man after shots were fired in downtown Madison.

Police say around 1 a.m. on Saturday, officers in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots near W. Gilman Street.

According to police, two businesses and an unoccupied car were struck by gunfire.

Police arrested 26-year-old Darnell Richmond for his involvement in the incident. He faces charges of Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon.

Madison Police do not believe that anyone was hit by gunfire.
