Driver seriously injured in Janesville crash
JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) - Janesville police officers fought to keep a 24-year-old man alive as emergency medical teams rushed to the scene of a crash that had thrown him from his vehicle.
The officers responded to the scene around 2:20 a.m. after hearing a vehicle crash behind Pine Tree Plaza in Janesville, officials said. They took life saving measures until members of the Janesville Fire Dept. arrived to relieve them.
According to the release, the driver was transported to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries after being assisted by the Janesville Fire Department and Wisconsin State Patrol Reconstruction Unit.
Janesville Police Department believes alcohol and speed could have been factors in the crash, although it still remains under investigation.
