JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) - The Janesville Police Dept. released surveillance images from an overnight armed robbery at a motel on the north side of the city.

Investigators released the images - as well as a photograph showing the sweatshirt the suspect was wearing - Thursday morning asking anyone who recognizes the individual or who has information about the robbery to call police.

They say the suspect went into the Super 8 Motel, at 3430 Milton Ave., around 1:15 a.m. and robbed the clerk at gunpoint, taking an undisclosed amount of cash.

He was described as a white man, standing between 5′10″ and 6′ tall and weighing between 150-200 lbs. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with the lettering “CHI6AGO,” a black neck gator mask, black pants, and black shoes. The suspect was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun and fled the scene on a BMX-style bicycle.
